The barnyard image initiated wonderful conversations about child hood farm life however the non traditional uneven sized and shaped individual pieces made the puzzle more difficult than it should have been. Recognition of familiar shapes helps to solve a puzzle with a new image however we struggled through and will keep using this puzzle. Perhaps this could be noted on the box, alongside the details such as number of puzzle pieces. If the user does not have a long history of doing jigsaws then the changed shapes would perhaps not even be noticed.
