Indian Flag

The flag of India is a horizontal rectangular tricolour of saffron, white, and green with the Ashoka Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its centre. The saffron band at the top represents courage, sacrifice, and the spirit of renunciation. The white band in the middle represents purity, cleanliness, and truth. The green band at the bottom represents faith, fertility, and chivalry. The Ashoka Chakra in the centre represents righteousness, justice, and moral progress. The flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 22 July 1947, and it has been the national flag of India since then. The flag is based on the Swaraj flag, which was a flag used by the Indian National Congress during the Indian independence movement.
